Crack in new windshield!!?

I just had a new windshield installed 2 days ago. I went into work and when I came out from work their was a foot long crack coming from the right side in the windshield. I took it back to glassmasters in Va Beach and they said that a rock hit it and they are not responsible for it. A rock did NOT hit my windshield and their is NO chip anywhere on the glass indicating that a rock did hit the glass. What should I do? I paid $175 for it. Is it worth small claims court?

    Sounds like a stress crack, I have seen this before, not often. What happens is when the windshield is installed the body may be flexed a little and you have parked it and it was flexing the other way and the force will crack the windshield,The only way to tell if the crack starts at the end of the window and cracks outward.

    $175 huh. Gee I guess it wasn't such a good deal after all, cost more to file the court paperwork, next time go with a reputable company that doesn't use the cheapest Chinese glass they can get there hands on.

    that is really cheap for a windshield but if it ws okay when you got you car then I don't think the glass place is responsible once it leaves their shop.

    if a rock hit it there would be an impact dent of some kind.
    i say improper installation, keep hassling them untill they fix it.
